The UK government has rightly banned puberty blockers for minors due to serious safety risks, yet the NHS plans a £10.7 million trial to continue their use. Evidence from the Cass Review and medical research shows these drugs can harm cognitive development, bone density, fertility, and mental health, with no proven long-term benefits. As Titular Archbishop of Selsey, I have long opposed the medicalization of gender dysphoria in children, supporting families through PSHEbrighton and challenging legally flawed policies like the Trans Inclusion Schools Toolkit. I urge all people of goodwill to sign CitizenGO’s petition to stop this unethical experimentation on vulnerable children.
