Maundy Thursday Liturgy

On Maundy Thursday, the Church begins the Sacred Triduum, entering into the mystery of Christ’s Passion with solemn remembrance. The faithful gather for the Mass of the Lord’s Supper, commemorating the institution of the Holy Eucharist and the Sacred Priesthood. As the Gloria resounds and then falls silent, the altar is stripped and the Blessed Sacrament is carried in procession to the Altar of Repose. There, the faithful keep watch in adoration, as Christ enters into His agony.
