SUMMARY:Lent Study 12 Rules
DESCRIPTION:Each week\, we read a chapter of Dr. Jordan Peterson’s Twelve Rules for Life and compare and contrast his insights with perennial Catholic doctrine. Participants are encouraged to read the chapter ahead of the meeting\, noting their initial thoughts\, questions\, and reflections. Afterward\, they search the Catechisms—including the Penny Catechism\, the Catechism against Modernism\, and other traditional sources—for relevant teachings that either align with or challenge Peterson’s ideas. \n\n\n\nDuring the meeting\, we discuss these comparisons\, examining how Catholic moral theology\, hierarchy\, and objective truth provide a deeper and more complete understanding of the principles Peterson explores. By engaging in critical reflection and theological analysis\, participants strengthen their ability to articulate and defend the faith\, apply practical wisdom to daily life\, and prepare spiritually—especially in the context of the liturgical season. \n\n\n\nIf you’d like to join in the discussion and participate in our study group\, we meet every Wednesday from 5.30pm at Hartington Road\, email for an invitation. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nShare this:\n Share on X (Opens in new window)\n X\n \n Share on Facebook (Opens in new window)\n Facebook\n \n Email a link to a friend (Opens in new window)\n Email\n \n Print (Opens in new window)\n Print\n Like this:Like Loading…

SUMMARY:Ash Wednesday
DESCRIPTION:On Ash Wednesday\, the faithful gather in a spirit of repentance to mark the beginning of the holy season of Lent. In churches throughout the world\, silence and stillness accompany the austere beauty of the liturgy. Ashes\, traced in the sign of the Cross upon the forehead\, remind each soul: “Remember\, man\, that thou art dust\, and unto dust thou shalt return.” Through fasting\, prayer\, and almsgiving\, the Church enters into the desert with Christ\, preparing hearts for the Paschal Mystery. It is a day of humility\, a summons to conversion\, and the doorway to grace. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nShare this:\n Share on X (Opens in new window)\n X\n \n Share on Facebook (Opens in new window)\n Facebook\n \n Email a link to a friend (Opens in new window)\n Email\n \n Print (Opens in new window)\n Print\n Like this:Like Loading…

SUMMARY:Quinquagesima Sunday Mass
DESCRIPTION:Each Sunday\, the faithful come together as the Body of Christ to celebrate the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass. Families\, individuals\, the young and the old drawn by the grace of the Lord’s Day. As the sacred liturgy unfolds\, Heaven touches Earth: Scripture is proclaimed\, prayers are lifted\, and the Eucharist—the source and summit of our faith—is received with devotion. It is a weekly homecoming\, a foretaste of eternal communion\, and the heart of Christian life.
